About
Our Origin
STUDIO HIRAM was founded in 2024 by Carlos Hiram Castro Lacarra, shaped by a personal journey that began in Mexico, spanned the USA and currently London, UK. The constant movement during his formative years left him without a full sense of belonging. In trying to fit in, he often found himself limiting his self-expression. But as time passed, he began to embrace his unique background, and with that, a desire emerged to curate everything around him, shaping his environment to reflect who he was.
Carlos’s journey into jewellery-making began with a simple curiosity, born from a frustration with the lack of diversity, boldness, and expression in men’s jewellery. He wanted sculptural pieces that were more than just the typical chain or signet ring—jewellery that could be an extension of his identity while challenging traditional notions of what jewellery should be.
This led him to draw upon his interests in architecture, multi-cultural motifs, and the dynamics of light. He began experimenting with prototyping, crafting pieces from found beads, stones, sterling silver and other unconventional materials. However, his hunger for knowledge and mastery drove him to seek out more training. He immersed himself in lost wax casting and silversmithing, and taught himself 3D CAD modelling to perfect his unique angular style and craftsmanship.
As he honed his skills, he realised that he was not just creating jewellery—he was reclaiming his heritage and identity, channeling the power of what made him different into his designs. This realisation crystallised his vision for STUDIO HIRAM: to create striking, angular art through jewellery that empowers individuals to boldly express their authentic selves.
Our Craftsmanship
Our pieces begin as sketches, which are refined using 3D software before being crafted into wax models. These models are cast in responsibly sourced, recycled 925 sterling silver through the traditional lost wax casting method. All our designs are crafted with solid 925 sterling silver and never with filler metals or shortcuts (you’d be surprised). Each piece is then meticulously hand-finished to achieve a high-polish, fine jewellery standard. Finally, ethically sourced lab-grown gemstones and other unconventional materials are precisely set into bezels, resulting in statement pieces that are sharp, bold, and captivating.
All our jewelry is designed in London. Some pieces are handcrafted in our London studio, while others are ethically produced in partnership with our manufacturer in Thailand. We carefully vet our partners to ensure ethical standards for everyone involved in our process.
